2026 CAC Men’s Basketball Championship Begins Thursday

Eight teams from across the country have made their way to Georgia Gwinnett College's Convocation Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia, to compete in the 2026 Continental Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship, starting on Thursday, February 26.

CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

GGC is hosting the tournament for the first time in the inaugural season for the college's men's basketball program.

Two quarterfinal round games will take place on Thursday and Friday, February 27, with the winners advancing to two semifinal contests on Saturday, February 28. A champion will be crowned after the final game on Sunday, March 1. The two teams advancing to the championship game will receive the league's automatic bids to the NAIA national tournament.

The tournament schedule is:

Quarterfinal Games Day 1 – Thursday, February 26

  • No. 2 seed Arkansas Baptist College vs. No. 7 seed Carolina University (North Carolina), 1 p.m.
  • No. 1 seed Georgia Gwinnett College vs. No. 8 seed Alice Lloyd College (Kentucky), 5 p.m.

Quarterfinal Games Day 2 – Friday, February 27

  • No. 3 seed Washington Adventist University (Maryland) vs. No. 6 seed Florida College, 1 p.m.
  • No. 4 seed Morris College (South Carolina) vs. No. 5 seed Fisher College (Massachusetts), 3 p.m.

Semifinal Games – Saturday, February 28

  • Semifinal 1, TBA
  • Semifinal 2, TBA

Championship Game – Sunday, March 1

  • Semifinal round winners play for the title, 4 p.m.

Georgia Gwinnett College (23-5) enters the postseason on an eight-game winning streak. The Grizzlies lead the conference by making 292 3-point field goals and 38.7 percent of their 3-pointers. Devontre Chaney leads the team by averaging 15.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per contest. He also has had 42 steals and 113 assists. Drew Kramer is averaging 13.5 points per game and Jahiem Berry follows closely behind at 13.4 points per outing.

Arkansas Baptist (15-9) has won all four of its games against CAC opponents this winter. The Buffaloes average 79.3 points per game. Lequan Washington leads the team in scoring at 11.2 points per game behind 49.3 percent shooting. Christopher Hood is scoring at a 10.8-point clip.

Washington Adventist (15-9) is on a seven-game winning streak. The Shock average 83.9 points per game and lead all CAC teams by making 17.5 free throws per game and shooting 74.6 percent from the free throw line. Chase Cook leads the team by averaging at 19.8 points per outing and Joey Brown IV is scoring 17 points per contest.

Morris (11-13) ranks second in the conference with 12.6 offensive rebounds per game. The Hornets also average 11.8 assists per game. The team went 3-3 against CAC teams this winter. Khalil Baker leads the team in scoring at 12.3 points per contest and Gary Bair is averaging 11.5 points per contest. Michael Wynn rounds out the team's double-figure scorers at 10.9 points per outing.

Fisher (16-11) leads the CAC in scoring by averaging 91.5 points per game and has made 47.4 percent of its field goals. Allen Lattimore leads the team by averaging 15.9 points per game. Tre'Von Cason is scoring 12 points per contest and Anthony Douglas Jr. has grabbed 4.6 rebounds while adding 8.8 points per outing.

Florida College (9-18) brings a three-game winning streak into postseason play, including a 74-68 win against Beacon College (Florida) on February 13. The Falcons rank first in the CAC for 3-point attempts per game (30.3) and are third for 3-pointers made (10.3). Malik Beauford has scored 518 points for an average of 19.2 points per contest. Aiden Wall has added 12.1 points per game after starting all 27 games.

Carolina (6-20) won last year's CAC championship after being the tournament's No. 8 seed. This year, the Bruins are averaging 74.4 points per game and making 44.9 percent of their field goals. The team also has grabbed 39.1 rebounds per game. Shawn Woodson leads the team by averaging 15.1 points per game and Tristan Kuska has contributed 11.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per outing. DJ Evans is another double-figure scorer at 12.4 points per contest.

Alice Lloyd (11-16) is making its CAC postseason debut. The Eagles top the conference in three-pointers made (10.6 per game) and are second for 3-point shooting (36.5 percent). The team averages 84.3 points per outing. Evin Eversole leads the team by scoring 16.4 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. Koji Anderson is scoring at a 15.9-point clip and Landon Napier is shooting 39.4 percent from behind the 3-point arc.
