Big Performances Lead Hesston’s Thompson, Alice Loyd’s Napier to Earning CAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards

Helping their respective teams to wins with big-game performances has led Hesston Collee (Kansas) sophomore Trent Thompson and Alice Lloyd College (Kentucky) junior Landon Napier to earning the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week awards.

Thompson, the offensive honor recipient, averaged a double-double with 24.3 points and 11 rebounds against three conference opponents. He set a single-game school-record with 20 made free throws to score 30 points in a 92-84 win against Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas) last Saturday. The guard from Okmulgee, Oklahoma, had scored 27 points in a 96-81 victory against Florida National University last Friday.

Napier, the defensive honoree, led the Eagles to a 20-point triumph against Boyce College (Kentucky) last Saturday. The guard tallied 32 points on 8-of-10 shooting in field goals, including eight 3-pointers. He also made eight of nine free throws in the game. He also had three rebounds, one blocked shot and one steal while playing 30 minutes.
