Florida National Duo Run Away with CAC Cross Country Weekly Honors

Florida National University freshman Joandy Olivera and junior Mia Betancourt have earned the Continental Athletic Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week after more strong performances.

Olivera, the men's award winner, finished 53rd at the Ed Holloway XC Classic in Lakeland, Florida, covering the 8-kilometer course in 30:02.1. The meet featured competitors from NCAA Division I and II and NAIA collegiate ranks.

Betancourt, the women's honoree, led the Conquistadors with a 49th-place finish in 27:33.5 across a 6-kilometer race in Florida that also featured runners from Division I Florida Gulf Coast University and Florida International University.
