CAC Women’s Volleyball Weekly Awards to Open November Schedule
Westcliff University (California) senior Samantha Carelock has joined Florida College junior Taina de Lima Nunes and Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas) sophomore Alaina Dugi in being named the Continental Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Players of the Week as the schedule has flipped to November.
Carelock, the Attacker of the Week, helped the Warriors win two of their three matches for the week by tallying 46 kills and having a .394 hitting percentage. Her strong play helped the team defeat Simpson University (California) in straight sets last Friday. Carelock recorded 23 kills in a five-set triumph against Pacific Union College (California) last Thursday.
de Lima Nunes, the Setter of the Week, recorded her 1,000th assist of the season to spark the Falcons' offensive attack. She tallied 79 assists and averaged 7.18 assists per set. The junior amassed 43 assists in a 3-2 loss to Pensacola Christian College (Florida) last Saturday.
Dugi, the Defender of the Week, tallied 56 digs and averaged 5.60 digs pet set across a pair of competitive 3-2 setbacks. She had 31 digs against Cottey College (Missouri) last Saturday after beginning the week with 25 digs against Hesston College (Kansas) last Wednesday.
