CAC Announces Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week to Close September
A pair of juniors joined a sophomore in collecting the final Continental Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Players of the Week award winners for September.
Carolina University (North Carolina) junior Britney Comolli earned the Attacker of the Week honor, Simpson University (California) junior Brooke Sarahina is the Setter of the Week, and Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas) sophomore Alaina Dugi is the Defender of the Week.
Comolli made a strong impact for the Bruins, tallying 27 kills and a .143 hitting percentage for last week. The Hereford, Arizona, native averaged 2.45 kills per set. The outside hitter had 12 kills in a five-set triumph against NCAA Division III Emory & Henry (Virginia) last Saturday.
Sarahina averaged 8.83 assists per set for 53 assists in a pair of 3-0 sweeps for Simpson against Pacific Union College (California). The Ewa Beach, Hawaii, native added 35 assists in a match last Thursday and had 18 assists during a contest last Saturday.
Meanwhile, Dugi tallied 20 digs and went 12-for-13 in serve receptions during last Saturday's match against Kansas Wesleyan University. The Cow Springs, Arizona, native recorded 57 digs across four matches, averaging 4.38 digs per set. She had 15 digs against Missouri Valley College (Missouri) last Wednesday and added 14 digs against William Woods University (Missouri) later in the day.
