Haskell Indian Nations Wins 2026 CAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship
With six first-place finishes, Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas) ran away with the 2026 Continental Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Friday, held at the Ansin Sports Complex and hosted by Florida National University.
The Fightin' Indians tallied 219 points to win their first league championship in the second-ever CAC meet. Florida National placed second with 123 points, after registering four event victories.
Hesston College (Kansas) was third with 35 points, followed by Arkansas Baptist College with 26 points, Carolina University (North Carolina) with 22 points and Florida College with 18 points.
Carmen Fields – the 2026 CAC Field Athlete of the Year – led Haskell Indian Nations' championship-winning performance. She set a championship meet record in winning the discus throw (38.90 meters) and also had the best hammer throw (39.66 meters), besides placing second in the shot put (10.01 meters).
Bailey Mike won the 400-meter dash in 1:04.40 and was a member of Haskell Indian Nations' victorious 4-x-400-meter relay team (4:31.71).
Meanwhile, Florida National's Jailyn Otero earned the 2026 CAC Track Athlete of the Year award after winning the 400-meter hurdles with a championship meet record time (1:16.69).
