Georgia Gwinnett College Wins 2025 CAC Women’s Soccer Title
Top-seeded Georgia Gwinnett College captured its third straight and eighth overall title, defeating No. 2 seed Bellevue University (Nebraska) 4-2 in the 2025 Continental Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship Tournament final on Tuesday evening at GGC's Grizzly Soccer Complex.
Hannah Lorenz scored a pair of goals to lift the tournament host to victory. She opened the scoring in the 12th minute after intercepting a pass and putting the ball into the wide open net, giving the Grizzlies an early 1-0 advantage.
Jade Perrin then bent a free kick from 23 yards away into the upper right corner of the goal to give the team a 2-0 lead during the 33rd minute.
GGC (10-5-5) added another tally in the 57th minute as Natalie Maguire weaved around the Bellevue (12-3-2) goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation after Nova Eskelinen flicked a pass beyond the Bruins defenders. Teammate Kathrine Lindenberg initially played a long ball toward Eskelinen.
The lead grew to 4-0 after Lorenz's second goal of the match came in the 61st minute.
Bellevue battled back with two late goals. First, Adi Kasel redirected a right crossing pass from Katrina Avila into the GGC goal in the 75th minute. The team then benefitted from an own goal during the 83rd minute to cut the deficit in half, at 4-2.
Tuesday's match marked the fifth consecutive season that Bellevue and Georgia Gwinnett College have faced off in the conference championship final.
