Bellevue Sweeps CAC Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards
A pair of Bellevue University (Nebraska) student-athletes have swept the Continental Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week awards after leading the Bruins to an unbeaten week to open the September portion of the 2025 schedule.
Senior Lily Humes, the offensive honoree, tallied the team's lone goal in a 1-1 draw against Concordia University (Nebraska) last Wednesday. The midfielder headed in a shot to score the match-tying goal late in the first half against an opponent that's receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 poll.
Junior Maju Serrano, the defensive award winner, delivered the crossing pass on Humes' goal. The defender also anchored a defense that allowed just 12 total shots across two matches. Serrano helped Bellevue shut out Morningside University (Iowa) in a scoreless draw last Saturday.
