2026 CAC Women’s Basketball Championship Tips Off Thursday

The 2026 Continental Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Championship will tip off with first-round games on Thursday, February 26, at Georgia Gwinnett College's Convocation Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

GGC is hosting the six-team tournament for the first time in the inaugural season for the college's women's basketball program.

The winning teams from Thursday's first-round action will advance to two semifinal games on Saturday, February 28, before a champion is crowned on Sunday, March 1, at 7 p.m. The tournament champion will receive the league's automatic bid to the NAIA national tournament. 

The tournament schedule is:

First-Round Games – Thursday, February 26

  • No. 3 seed Florida National University vs. No. 6 Morris College, 3 p.m.
  • No. 4 seed Washington Adventist University vs. No. 5 Carolina University, 7 p.m.

Semifinal Games – Saturday, February 28

  • No. 1 seed Georgia Gwinnett College vs. Winner of Washington Adventist University-Carolina University, TBA
  • No. 2 seed Haskell Indian Nations University vs. Winner of Florida National University-Morris College, TBA

Championship Game – Sunday, March 1

  • Semifinal round winners play for the title, 7 p.m.

Georgia Gwinnett College (19-6) has won its last 12 games and defeated all eight games against fellow CAC opponents this season. The Grizzlies stand second nationally in scoring defense, allowing 50.2 points per game. Christen Collins leads the team in scoring at 16.6 points per game and has made 65 3-point field goals. Jamya Griffin is averaging 12 points and five rebounds per outing. Peyton Hearvey has made 46 3-pointers while averaging nine points per contest.

Haskell Indian Nations (11-16), the defending tournament champion, have won five of its last six games. Ivy Fox leads the Fightin' Indians by scoring 18.3 points per game and Ona Dauphinais is adding 17 points per contest and has made 72 3-pointers. Tierzah Penn rounds out the team's balanced offensive attack at 9.2 points per outing.

Florida National (11-13) went 4-5 against CAC opponents during the regular season. The Conquistadors feature four double-figure scorers, led by Kaylee Llanos at 16.1 points per game. Ziul Gonzalez follows at 15.8 points per outing and Maria De Gracia is at 13 points a game, while averaging a team-best 8.8 rebounds per contest. Jaylyn Laguna is scoring at a 10.1-point clip this winter.

Washington Adventist (13-8) enters the postseason on a three-game winning streak and has won four of its six games in league play. The Shock are led by Heather Middleton at 15 points and 10.4 rebounds per contest. Isabela Lujan-Gonzales is scoring at a 10.8-point clip and has 68 assists. The team is allowing 61.1 points per game.

Carolina (7-18) posted a 3-4 mark against fellow CAC opponents this winter. Dearia Page paces the Bruins' offensive attack at 13.8 points per game and has grabbed 7.1 rebounds per contest. Jakyiiah Willis is averaging 11.9 points per outing and Angelina Jordan rounds out the team's double-figure scorers at 11.5 points per game.

Morris (10-13) is making its first postseason appearance since 2015. The Hornets scored a 68-62 victory against Florida National in a CAC Classic at GGC on February 7. Alaya Grane is averaging 13.9 points per game and has made 23 3-pointers. Zoey McMickens has grabbed 6.7 rebounds per contest to go along with 9.2 points per outing.
