Carolina Sweeps CAC Softball Player of the Week Awards

Standout performances by Carolina University (North Carolina) junior Emma-Lee Cabral and senior Madison Hamilton have been recognized with the Continental Athletic Conference Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week award winners as the season moves into March.

Cabral, the Hitter of the Week, was electric at the plate for the Bruins with a .692 batting average (9-for-13), scoring seven runs, driving in eight runs, and tallying 20 total bases. The utility player from Pueblo, Colorado, also had five doubles, two home runs and seven extra-base hits. Cabral has posted an outstanding 1.538 slugging percentage and a .750 on-base percentage in 16 plate appearances.

Hamilton, the Pitcher of the Week, was exceptional in the circle by posting a 2-0 record, with two complete games, across 10 innings. The Brooksville, Florida, native tossed a five-inning no-hitter and allowed just one walk in an 8-0 victory against Bluefield University (Virginia) last Wednesday.
