Georgia Gwinnett College Sweeps CAC Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

Georgia Gwinnett College freshman Ousmane Fall and sophomore Josefa Simao have earned the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week awards after helping the nationally ranked Grizzlies close out the regular season with a road victory and significant 10th total triumph of the season.

Fall, the offensive recipient, played a key role in all three goals of last Saturday's 3-0 triumph against Thomas University (Georgia). The forward scored a pair of goals – in the ninth and 67th minutes – and provided an assist on the team's third goal of the match.

The player from Dakar, Senegal, has scored a team-leading 14 goals for GGC this season.

Simao, the defensive honoree, delivered an assist on a key insurance goal midway through the second half of last Saturday's match. The Angers, France, native helped the No. 15-ranked Grizzlies limit the opposition to three total shots, with only one shot being placed on goal.

Simao's performance helped GGC post 10 or more wins in a season for the 11th time in the program's 14-year history.

Georgia Gwinnett College (10-2-3) is scheduled to host the Continental Athletic Conference championship tournament from November 7-11 at the Grizzly Soccer Complex in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
