Florida Duo Garner CAC Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

Helping their respective teams to separate victories against a ranked conference foe has led Florida National University sophomore Filipe Ribeiro and Florida College senior Filip Borka to receive the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week awards.

Ribeiro, the offensive honoree, scored two of his three goals for the week in the Conquistadors' 3-2 victory against No. 6-ranked Bellevue University (Nebraska) last Saturday. He took 10 shots and helped the team defeat the Bruins for the first time with the match-winning goal. The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, native also found the back of the net in FNU's 2-0 home triumph against Ave Maria University (Florida) last Tuesday.

Borka, the defensive award winner, had six saves in the Falcons' 2-1 victory against Bellevue last Thursday. The Prague, Czech Republic, native made a key save with two minutes remaining in the match to maintain the team's one-goal advantage.
