Juniors Collect CAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week Awards
Junior student-athletes from Fisher College (Massachusetts) from Bellevue University (Nebraska) have been recognized as the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Players of the Week.
Fisher's Leonardo Di Biase, the offensive recipient, scored four goals and attempted 16 shots across two matches for the Falcons. The forward had a hat trick in a dominant victory over Vermont State University-Randolph last Thursday. The Empoli, Italy, native found the back of the net in another triumph against the University of Maine-Presque Isle on Sunday. Di Biase registered eight shot attempts in each match.
Bellevue's Buster Honeywood, the defensive honoree, had a hand in all three goals in the Bruins' 3-1 win against Briar Cliff University (Iowa). The defender assisted on each of the team's first two goals, including the match-winning tally. The Kessingland, England, native put the match away with a goal in the 72nd minute. Honeywood also anchored a defense that posted its fifth shutout of the season with a 1-0 win over Concordia University (Nebraska) last Wednesday.
