Westcliff, Fisher Players Earn CAC Baseball Weekly Awards

Westcliff University (California) junior Ryan Duron and Fisher College (Massachusetts) senior Maylo Sierra have earned the Continental Athletic Conference Baseball Players of the Week after leading their teams to winning weeks on the diamond.

Duron, the Hitter of the Week, helped the Warriors win three of five games last week by collecting a .579 batting average (11-for-19) and driving in 10 runs. He hit a home run and had four RBI as part of a 3-for-4 performance in a 7-6 win at Simpson University (California) last Friday. Duron collected three hits to open the four-game series. The junior posted a .947 slugging percentage during the week.

Sierra, the Pitcher of the Week, struck out eight batters and allowed only two hits in a complete-game victory against Bryant & Stratton-Albany (New York) last Friday. The right-hander from Bartlesville, Oklahoma, allowed one run and one walk in the dominant pitching performance. His outing helped the Falcons win all six games for the week.
