Carolina’s Ashlyn Ellenburg Named 2025-26 CAC Athletic Trainer of the Year

Carolina University (North Carolina) Assistant Athletic Trainer Ashlyn Ellenburg has been named the 2025-26 Continental Athletic Conference Athletic Trainer of the Year award, one of several awards that annually recognizes administrators, staff members and student-athletes.

Ellenburg is a certified athletic trainer and completed her first season helping treat student-athletes for the Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based institution. She assesses, treats and rehabilitates athletic injuries and generates detailed injury reports and clinical documentation to track the progress of the Bruins' athletes.

Ellenwood received her master of science degree in athletic training from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in May 2025 after graduating from Western Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in integrated health sciences in 2023.
