Brunella Beteta, Softball Pitcher

Florida National University senior Brunella Beteta was named the Continental Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week on April 27, 2026.

Varela went 1-1 while not allowing an earned run across two appearances and 13 innings. The right-hander tossed a one-hitter in a 1-0 victory against the University of Fort Lauderdale (Florida) last Monday. She recorded eight strikeouts in the outing. Beteta then tossed a complete game against No. 22 St. Thomas University (Florida) the next day.
